Cindy Gebelein- Director & Dance Instructor

Cindy started dancing at the age of six, and has been teaching dance for over 35 years. She performed at military bases and with marching bands all over the country and world, including travels to Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and Japan. She studied dance with Gus Giordano of Chicago and Joe Tremaine of Los Angeles. Cindy spent over four years as a dancer and choreographer for the variety show La Cage Aux Folles  in Hollywood. With all that performing, her greatest love was always, and is still, teaching dance.


Udee McGeoy- Dance Instructor

Udee has been a professional dancer & choreographer in the entertainment industry for over 10 years in Los Angeles. Udee trained in jazz, ballet and modern while living in San Diego but ultimately found her love in hip hop. Udee’s love for dance and music runs deep and she believes that both music and dance are therapeutic for your mind, body and soul. Udee has built up her resume working in all facets of the industry. You can see her as sexy bar-tending dance double and assistant choreographer in Walt Disney’s Coyote Ugly and a cheerleader with Lil’ Bow Wow in Like Mike. She has had numerous television appearances on several episodes of the The Tonight Show, the ESPY, Video Game, American Music Awards, and The Jimmy Kimmel Show, amongst others.  Udee is not only a veteran in film and television but has also danced on stage with artists like Snoop Dogg, Monica, Limp Bizkit, Bon Jovi and Mya. She has been in music videos with the legendary artist Stevie Wonder, the much missed Notorious B.I.G., Marcus Houston, Christina Aguilera and J.C. Chasez.

AU Choreography is the name of her choreography company along with her partner of many talents, Amy Allen from St. Louis. They have choreographed commercials for Mejii Coffee and Gap kids, videos for Paulina Rubio and Dear Jane and are contributing choreographers for Neyo, Ciara, Amerie and Usher. They are also developing hot new artist Miss Issa in contributed freestyle segments in the animated film Chicken Little. Udee says that different styles of dance all have a very different feeling, culture, lifestyle, circumstance, or emotion that inspired them. She has been all over the world teaching and performing and loves to teach those who want to learn and give forth maximum effort. She doesn’t require you get it right but just that you try.

Laura Grissom- Dance Instructor, Dance Spirit Coach

As the Children’s Musical Theatre Director at Gotta Dance Studio from 2008 – 2011, Laura produced and directed four productions a year, including two shows each summer for the studio’s summer camp program. Since starting Kismet Kids Musical Theatre in 2011, Ms. Grissom has directed Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, Seussical the Musical, Alice in Wonderland, Annie, The AristoCats, Hairspray!, Mulan Jr, Shrek the Musical!, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, High School Musical!, Mary Poppins, Aladdin Jr., and Willy Wonka! Laura currently teaches Song & Dance at the studio, and has also been a coach for the competition team, Dance Spirit, since 2010.  In addition to running Kismet Kids Musical Theatre, Laura also directs children’s musical theatre programs at elementary schools in Chatsworth and Simi Valley.  Ms. Grissom studied Musical Theatre, Children’s Theatre, Theatre Production, and Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno where she performed in many theatrical productions including Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, Gypsy, Cabaret, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Oliver!, Hansel and Gretel, and Stop the World, in addition to receiving hands-on training in production support.  Her greatest accomplishment remains her three wonderful children.  For more information about Laura’s musical theatre program, please visit www.kismetkids.com

Mariah Grissom, Dance Instructor, Dance Spirit Coach

 

Mariah began training when she was nine years old at Gotta Dance Studio in jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip hop, tap, and pointe and started teaching when she was 15. In addition to choreographing for the annual holiday show, Nuttycracker, she is also a coach for the competition team, Dance Spirit.  Mariah graduated form Granada Hills Charter High School Class of 2016, where she was a member of the GHCHS Dance Team for four years and was the co-captain in her Senior year. Mariah began choreographing for Kismet Kids Musical Theatre two years ago and has co-choreographed Shrek the Musical, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, and Aladdin Jr. and  co-choreographed Beauty and the Beast and Grease this past summer!

 

Connor Trahan- Dance Instructor

 

Connor was born and raised in Mid-Michigan, where he began his dance training at age 9. He trained at a pre-professional ballet aca demy while also traveling and assisting on conventions. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career in dance at age 18. He’s performed in various live shows throughout L.A. while also working for some of the biggest competitions and conventions in the industry. Connor also continues his training at professional studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, Edge Performing Arts Center, and Movement Lifestyle. Connor loves getting to share his passion for dance with the next generation and is thrilled to be teaching here at Gotta Dance!

 

 

Taylor Nunemaker- Dance Instructor

Taylor is an Ohio native who moved to California to start her professional dance career. She started dancing at the age of 3 and grew up training and competing at competitions and conventions all across the U.S. Taylor continues her training at studios such as Millennium, Movement Lifestyle, and Debbie Reynolds, and has performed in a range of shows such as Posers, Club Jete, and Hollywood Vibe. Taylor has traveled and worked for three of the largest convention/competitions in the U.S, while maintaining her career as a tap dancer by becoming a part of two of the major tap dance companies in southern California, Rithem Dance Co. & Tap Sounds Undergound. Taylor loves teaching tap, contemporary, jazz funk, and is excited to be teaching here at Gotta Dance Studio!

Marina Martinez, Dance Instructor

Marina is currently 18 years old and grew up in Sylmar California. She has been part of the Gotta Dance family for over 12 years. She has been trained in Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballet and Pointe by a variety of teachers. She has also been a part of the Dance Spirit team and Pure Energy team at Gotta Dance.

 

 

Keli Adams- Dance Instructor

Keli’s formal training began at the young age of three studying under the direction of Stanley Holden and Kim Maselli at the Pacific Festival Ballet here in Los Angeles, now she has fifteen years preforming and ten years teaching experience. Keli’s eclectic background in classical ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern she has formed a style of contemporary that transcends ballet and jazz movement. As ballet and jazz technique are the start to any dance training Keli wants to teach the next generation and form well rounded dancers and artist. She has worked professionally since the age of six with some of the top pop and R&B artists as well as numerous prestige ballet companies all over the US. Working for LAUSD for the past eight years Keli currently sits on the faculty as the choreographer at Hale Charter Academy in the dance department in Woodland Hills. Keli’s choreography has won numerous awards in the competition circuit and she has been named one of the most artistic choreographers LAUSD (west valley) has seen in years. She strives for a fast-fulled class that brings mind and body strength together, centralizing energetic movement transcending style.

Nicole Turner- Dance Instructor

Nicole began her training at Gotta Dance Studio at the age of three. Growing up she trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Modern, and attended numerous competitions and conventions throughout the years. At age 16 she decided to continue her training at some of the top studios in Los Angeles, such as, Movement Lifestyle, Edge PAC, and Debbie Allen Dance Academy. Since then, Nicole has strived to be a triple threat in the dance, acting, and modeling industries. She has been in commercials for companies such as Apple, danced in a variety of music videos, and appeared on Disney channel.
Although she continues to grow her professional career, she has found a passion for choreography. She has choreographed over 20 musical theatre productions for Kismet Kids since the age of 17, and began teaching and coaching for Dance Spirit at Gotta Dance 4 years ago. She is a firm believer that proper technique and body awareness are key to succeed as a dancer and pushes herself to become a better teacher every day. Her main goal is to give her students a positive outlet to express themselves through movement and to make a difference in their lives. She truly loves her profession and is excited to be working at Gotta Dance!

Amy Allen, Master Class Guest Teacher

Spider, Master Class Guest Teacher

Spidey’s love for dance began at the young age of 8 when he saw Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” music video and the rest is history. He’s a man of many traits: hip-hop dancer, b-boy, krumper, martial artist, parkor dare devil, and fire spinner. He’s worked with artist such as the social media Queen, Liane V., Latin grammy award winning group, Choquibtown, and Monster Music where he opened for artist such as the Jacksons, Neyo, and Rick Ross. Also he is the Artistic Director of the dance crew, The Zulu Maniacs, who’ve performed at World of Dance, Urban Street Jam, Battle LA, and Hip-Hop International.
